A hero is defined as "a person who is admired for great courage, special achievements, or noble character." Today we talked about heroes and what makes us heroes.
We also read an old favorite, "The Important Book" by Maragret Wise Brown and we got to know each eachother better and learned what is "important" about each of our classmates. "The important thing about you is that you are you!"
We were super scientists and we reviewed the steps of the Scientific Method. We talked about questions we have about the world around us. We did a science lab called "The Amazing Floating Egg." Ask your child to tell you about their predictions, observations, and conclusions.
We love computers. Today we practiced logging on and getting to the internet. We got to play on Fun Brain. We will be technology superstars by the end of the year.
At the end of the day some of our friends went to resource with their regular class and some of us learned the basics of chess. We have two cool Chess boards that I found at The Learning Express that are teaching boards. The name of them is "Quick Chess." It would be great to have a few more of these learning boards so that we all could play.
